1. Operator

This service is operated by Tao Yan, trading as Zero Carbon Logic. By using Carbon Factor Matcher, you agree to these Terms of Service.

2. Service Description

Carbon Factor Matcher is an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that provides intelligent emission factor matching for carbon accounting and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). It connects AI agents with emission factor databases including ELCD (~600 factors) and ecoinvent (~21,000 factors, Pro tier).

3. Order Processing & Merchant of Record

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries related to payment and handles returns. Your payment details are processed entirely by Paddle and are never stored on our servers.

4. License Tiers

Free Tier — Keyword-based search over ELCD, up to 300 queries per day. No license key required.
Pro Tier — Hybrid matching (keyword + embedding similarity), ecoinvent access, 5-dimension data quality ratings, unlimited queries. Requires a one-time purchase license key.

5. Delivery

Upon successful payment, your Pro License Key will be delivered immediately to the email address provided at checkout. If you do not receive your key within 15 minutes, please check your spam folder or contact support.

6. License Key Terms

Each license key is valid for a single user and is non-transferable.
Redistribution, resale, or sharing of license keys is strictly prohibited.
Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling the software is prohibited.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree to use this service solely for lawful carbon accounting and LCA purposes. The following uses are prohibited:

Automated scraping or mass downloading of factor data beyond normal API usage
Using the service for any illegal activity
Attempting to circumvent rate limits or access controls
Redistributing factor data obtained through the service without proper attribution to the original data sources (ELCD, ecoinvent)

8. Data Accuracy

Emission factors are sourced from publicly available databases (ELCD) and licensed databases (ecoinvent). While we strive for accuracy, the software is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Users are responsible for verifying factor suitability for their specific use case.

10. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Tao Yan / Zero Carbon Logic be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
